The Spice Sisters was co-founded in 2006 by two sisters, Jennifer and Cynthia, who shared a passion for cooking. In 2010, the business was re-launched and is now owned and operated by Jennifer. The company has grown into one of Toronto's leading personal chef businesses offering healthy and nutritious internationally inspired meals. Jennifer continues to incorporate new spices and flavours into her recipes and introduce new customers to The Spice Sisters' food philosophy.
Cynthia now resides and works from her heritage farmhouse in Prince Edward County. She is a food writer, consultant, and is the creator/owner of From the Farm Cooking School.
CHEF - CONSULTANT - INSTRUCTOR
Jennifer has been cooking in the industry for over fifteen years. As a child she was exposed to the love and appreciation of food by both her parents, who spent many hours in the kitchen preparing international dishes and tasty desserts for the family to enjoy. Some of her best memories growing up are those with her family in the kitchen. These lessons laid the foundation for Jennifer's journey into the culinary world. In her mid teens to early-twenties, she began cooking for prominent restaurants, various large scale catering companies and gourmet food shops in her hometown of Cambridge, Ontario. After working in the corporate world for over a decade in Toronto, she decided it was time for a change. Reconnecting with the culinary industry was at the top of her list. She began cooking on a freelance basis for large-scale special events and in 2006, she co-founded The Spice Sisters. Over the years, Jennifer's love of travel has played an integral role in providing culinary inspiration to create healthy, globally-influenced food for all to enjoy. Travelling to tropical destinations such as, Grenada, St.Lucia and Antigua, as well as the top U.S culinary hot spots continues to keep her creative juices flowing. Jennifer has obtained a certificate in catering from Le Cordon Bleu as well as her Food Handlers' Certificate from the Toronto Public Health Department. Jennifer has participated in various food shows and fundraisers, including Willow's “Eat to the Beat” Fundraiser, where Toronto's top female chefs are featured. She is also a regular featured Chef Instructor with the LCBO in their Cooking Class series of workshops. Jennifer is a proud member of Canadian Personal Chef Association. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys getting together with family and friends as well as golfing, travelling and of course, creating new recipes!
